August 5, 2004: Potluck sponsored by Pax Christi New Mexico

Where: Santa Maria de la Paz, located at 11 College Way in Santa Fe

When: 5 p.m.

Potluck dinner, nonviolence discussions, prayer. Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, one of the authors of the U.S. Bishop's Peace Pastoral and former President of Pax Christie U.S.A. will speak at the evening service.

August 6, 2004: March to Los Alamos National Laboratory sponsored by Pax Christi.

Where: Meet at Ashley Pond located between Central Avenue and Trinity Drive near 20th Street in Los Alamos, New Mexico

When: 6:45 a.m.

There will be a sidewalk vigil and march from Ashley Pond to the main entrance of Los Alamos National Laboratory at the corner of W. Jemez Road and Diamond Drive. Please bring signs and banners.

August 6, 2004: The Peace Village de Santa Fe embraces a culture of peace for the 6th Annual Peace Day in Santa Fe

Where: Santa Fe Plaza

When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A full day and night of multi-cultural music, dance, ceremony, comedy, poetry, drumming and insightful ideas by and for all ages to inspire a culture of peace. Plus engaging activities, educational exhibits, massage, arts and fun for all.

August 7, 2004: Implementing the Precautionary Priniciple in New Mexico, sponsored by the New Mexico Environment and Health Coalition and EcoVersity.

Where: EcoVersity located at 2639 Agua Fria Street in Santa Fe

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Carolyn Raffensperger, executive director of the Science and Environmental Health Network and a leading proponent of the precautionary principle, will facilitate a brainstorming and strategy session to help activists set an agenda for implementing the precautionary principle in New Mexico. Through an open and creative dialogue participants will identify opportunties and develop priorities for action in New Mexico.

4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A celebration of the precautionary principle and our work toward implementation. Celebration, snacks, music, and networking.
