Talkin' bout WIPP
Posted by Ash Black on December 10, 1998 at 19:05:07:When I first heard of WIPP 5 years ago I was outraged and offended. I felt powerless to stop it and it made me angry.
Sometimes when something makes you angry, it means you're supposed to look at it - so I did take a closer look at WIPP.
I found I felt much better about it when I got active and put my energy into opposition of WIPP.
For years the DOE has been threatening to open WIPP 'Tomorrow' - I think this is part of the PR game to make the opposition panic, to make us think it is too late.
Well, it's 5 years later and WIPP is still empty. It's not too late. It's never too late to stop WIPP.
I hope others will use this forum to find each other and mobilize.
