Public Comments Due Monday, June 10, 2013 – Say NO to High-Level Waste at WIPP
Comments are due to the New Mexico Environment Department tomorrow, Monday, June 10, 2013 about the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proposal to bring high-level nuclear waste to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). The waste would come from DOE sites at Hanford, Washington; Savannah River, South Caroline; and the Idaho National Laboratory. A sample comment letter is below for you to use. Please include your name and address and other contact information and email it to trais.kliphuis@state.nm.us. Ms. Kliphuis is a Program Manager at the New Mexico Environment Department, which regulates hazardous waste at WIPP.
